Lettering Date Stamps Added to Product Line
We've added Date Stamps with Raised Lettering to our
already extensive mold marking product line.
Raised Lettering on a Date Stamp results in a smooth, flat part
surface. Due to this exclusive feature, and also because there is no
height variation during plug rotation, the plastic part wall
thickness remains consistent. Access more details about the RF
Series by clicking
HERE.
With this series of daters, year-end changeovers are easy, with the
center plug removable from the parting line and marked with the
Progressive logo for easy identification of replacement parts. Also
released is Progressive’s
MultiDatersthat require no yearly
changeovers, and the
LG Series with raised lettering for large
structural foam molds and blow molds.
Expandable Options
With the recent addition
of the Collapsible Core technology (C-Core),
Progressive
and Roehr
also offer customers the advantages of Expandable Cavity technology.
Expandable
Cavities reliably mold parts with undercut details such as
threads, dimples, and protrusions.
They
eliminate the need for side-action mechanisms and the required
extensive machining of components and mold bases. In addition to
simplifying new tooling design, Expandable Cavities reduce the size
of the mold as well as the size of the press that is required.

Distribution Expansion
Mold
Components for the Indian Market
With a population of 1.3
billion people comes the need for consumer products, automotives,
and medical and packaging products in India. That all takes tooling.
So Progressive has expanded into this growing market. Recently
announced was a partnership with STIACK Engineering Pvt. Ltd, based
in Mumbai, with offices in Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Coimbatore and
Bangalore.

It's Been Said...
Since Progressive introduced its SRT Slide Retainers, we've
heard positive feedback from the field.
“We like the ease
of installation; and we especially like the roller, anti-friction
aspect of them,” says Jonathan Buss, of Buss Precision Mold. “Two
tap holes and a round pocket makes the machining very simple for
installation. And the roller alleviates potential wear on the
bottom of the slide, which has been great.”
Tom McDonald at
Dynasty Mold told us, “For the smallest of the SRTs, the tapped hole
is for a #4-48 screw, whereas the competitor’s calls for a #2-56
screw, which is a difficult size to tap. Plus all the SRTs are
round pocket versions vs. rectangular, making it easier to machine –
and there’s virtually no maintenance required.”

ProComper of the Month
Cindy
Juiris, Quality Coordinator
Having joined
Progressive more than 14 years ago, Cindy's responsibilities include
ensuring that proper product quality and service levels are
achieved, while also advancing internal process and ISO compliance.
Cindy notes that one
of the most important aspects of her job is to ensure that
Progressive is consistently following our processes concerning
customer order processing.
“Any deviation from
our processes results in an ‘incident’,” says Cindy. “These
incidents are then reviewed daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly to
look for trends and then I work with the departmental coordinator on
how to reduce an incident either through a process change,
additional training, or other means.
“Another important
aspect of my job is product quality,” she adds. “If
a customer calls with an incident with one of our products, it's my
job to get the appropriate person from Engineering involved and
together we work to ensure that proper actions are taken so that
other products and customers are not affected."
Asked what she would
consider her proudest accomplishments since joining Progressive,
Cindy had the following to say:
"I'm most proud of my
involvement with having Progressive become ISO certified in 1997.
I'm also very proud of our Satisfaction Surveys,” she continues. “We
have been conducting surveys since 1997. Customers have provided us
with some great feedback and it’s because of that feedback that
we've added new products, changed processes and have even made
modifications to customer accounts that better enable us to provide
enhanced services.”
Now that it's known
who is behind any surveys received, such as our Engineering survey
now housed at
www.procomps.com/Eng/EngInsights.asp,
feel free to send feedback to Progressive through that, or by
emailing us at tech@procomps.com.
