Progressive Adds Online Tour
ProFileCV.com, a
Progressive Components exclusive launched in 2005, allows for users around the
globe to safely and easily share essential tooling info. Now, Progressive has
made an online tour of ProfileCV.com available for anyone interested in learning
how this web site can be a valuable resource for tooling management.

“Our exclusive
CounterView mold cycle counters have each been coded with a serial
number that, when input into ProFileCV.com, allows the user to add and
retrieve important data for every tool they build and/or run,” explains
Randy Winton, R&D Manager. “This then serves as a free, secure “file
cabinet” accessible to tool owners and designers, no matter where they
are working or where the tool is running.
“It saves a lot of
chasing around for CD’s,” Winton adds. “The info stored can be as
simple as steel certs and BOM info, or as extensive as part drawings and
tool drawings. It’s up to the customer, who is the Administrator, to
decide what data is stored and which security options should be
selected.”
ProFileCV.com (along
with the serial numbers coded on the CounterViews) integrates
effectively with both the
ProFile® and
MoldTrax mold
management programs available from Progressive and can be used
effectively with not only injection mold tooling but also with blow mold
and die cast tooling.

CamActions®
: Core
Pulls Made Simple
Progressive’s
off-the-shelf CamActions
reliably pull core pins or undercut details.
Suited for more than
just simple details, CamActions can also accommodate angled pulls, as
shown below, and all with standard items to help ease the design, build
and maintenance processes.
2-D
and verified, machinable 3-D CAD geometry is online for these compact
modular units:
-
CamAction 100 Series –
Eliminates angle pins, as well as eliminating machining to the cavity
half of the tool. Travel = .160” / 4mm.
-
CamAction 200 Series –
Positively pulls mold details, with mechanical actuation occurring
from the stationary half. Travel = .230” / 6mm.
-
CamAction 300 Series –
Designed for releasing larger details. Travel = .250” / 6mm.
-
CamAction 400 Series –
Releases larger details with deep undercuts, and provides a cooling
circuit. Travel = 1.00” / 25mm.
Don’t be “undercut” by
the competition… “Pull” catalog pages and CAD geometry from our website,

It's Been Said... |
|
Progressive enjoys
hearing from our customers… It helps us to continue to develop in the
right directions.
Recently we received a
note from Tom Meisels, President of FGL Precision Works, Ltd., in
Toronto, Ontario, Canada:
“In the ever increasing
competitive world of mold making, Progressive Components has proven to
be a valuable resource for FGL Precision Works. You have provided us
with superior customer service, through extensive product knowledge,
quick professional response and pricing that keeps FGL a favorable
supplier to our customers.”
Tom
added, “Progressive Components has been committed to working with us to
help us be successful in today’s market.”
As good as it is to receive the above; we can handle
constructive criticism, too. Either way, please feel free to give us
your feedback by taking our
online survey. Your thoughts will be appreciated and acted
upon. |

Leon Suttles
Southeast Regional Sales Manager
Based out of Leicester,
North Carolina, Leon Suttles joined Progressive Components as Regional
Sales Manager in 2006, working throughout the Southeast.
As a tooling industry
veteran and charter member of the North American Die Casting Association
(NADCA) where he currently serves on the Board of Governors, Leon
particularly enjoys working with die casting companies to help them find
new and better ways to build and run their tooling.
“I find that die
casters are more readily accepting of new technologies and standardized
components for their tooling,” explains Leon. “They see the time and
cost savings versus homemade components.”
An avid NASCAR fan,
Leon selflessly volunteered to accompany winners of the NPE2006 “Trip to
the Races” raffle as they attended the Bank of America 500 at the Lowes
Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC on October 14, 2006.
“I think it would be
good to have that theme for NPE2009 as well,” Leon commented.
Feel free to drop Leon a
line to arrange a meeting by e-mailing him at
Leon.Suttles@procomps.com
or by calling 828-712-9084. |
