New Date Stamps Put a “Lock” on Production Dates

Progressive is known for offering the most comprehen-sive line of Date Rings/Plugs, developing innovative features while maintaining compatibility and inter-changeability with most popular brands on the market.

Now, Progressive announces its new Locking Series Date Stamps, which have the same “footprint” as the popular RF (‘Remains Flush’) Series, and offer the following benefits:

●  Ensures accurate alignment of the arrow to the number.

●  The end user is able to feel the dater “click” into place, rather than visually aligning.

●  The center insert remains flush with outer ring throughout entire 360 degree adjustment.

●  More sizes available than with competing brands.

●  Available with recessed or raised letters.

●  Easily adjusted and/or replaced from the front of the mold.

●  Manufactured from hardened stainless steel, ideal for wear and corrosion resistance.

●  Maximum operating temp: 450°F/230°C.

All of Progressive’s center replacement inserts are laser etched for easy identification at year-end changeovers, plus with its full line available globally, customers are assured of timely delivery no matter where the tool is being built or run.

Alternative Approaches, Cost-Saving Ideas

DT Cores can be conveniently
removed and serviced while the
mold remains in the press.

More and more, moldmakers are seeking out new ways to provide customers with something more than the lowest “me, too” quote. Alternative approaches and cost-saving ideas are helping them win more molding projects, and one solution being employed for those requiring complicated undercuts or unscrewing is the DT Core from Progressive.

The DT Core is a positive, mechanically ac-tuated collapsible core that eliminates the cycle times of complex gear and rack sys-tems, resulting in a simplified “open-shut” tool. DT Cores also offer these benefits:

●  A patented quick-lock feature allows removal and servicing of the core unit while the mold is still in the press.

●  Its compact design allows for tighter cavity spacing, enabling the use of a smaller press or more cavities versus a comparably-sized gear and rack mold base.

●  The ejector system is eliminated by utilizing the mold’s opening for actuation, resulting in a very compact height, which is advantageous in stack molds while also allowing installation on the mold’s cavity half.

Available in four standard sizes to match common industry cap diameters, custom sizes are also available.

Tap into resources such as Progressive’s Collapsible Core Comparison Tool that helps tooling engineers run the numbers to compare traditional methods to one that could speed mold building or cycle times and save money. Live animations of the DT Core are available at www.procomps.com/demo.
