Difficult-to-Reach Locations Easy to Cool |

The Inlet Cascasde Fitting can be used when waterline space is limited - under a runner and between ejector pins - or to provide a water circuit in a slide.
When space is limited, Progressive’s
Inlet Cascade offers more flexibility in
mold cooling technology by combining the ‘in’ waterline with a cascade to cool a targeted area. Special features of the Inlet Cascade include:
• Perfect for reaching a center runner and gate in small inserts
• Reduces machining required in the insert
• Available in a wide range of cascade tube options
• Can also be used in high heat tools and die cast applications
“The Inlet Cascade solves most all of our cooling issues, and it has been a life saver for us on several projects,” says Andy Baker, project manager at Byrne Tool & Die, Inc. “Even when a customer wanted the coldest water on the interior block of steel, which is a tight space, the Inlet Cascades enabled us to connect the water lines directly onto them and reach the interior of the steel first.”
Progressive also offers special finished cooling components, such as Brass Extension Plugs and more unique items such as custom Bubbler Tubes to very small diameters (.020”/.5mm), custom blade material to very long lengths (36”/915mm), and custom cooling cores made from print.

It's Been Said...
Dan Hamilton, Vice President of
Powermark International, Inc. recently had this to say about Progressive’s service and quality:
“Today, we run a pretty lean ship and can’t always have an abundance of inventory. Any particular component that may be needed in a jam, we know Progressive has inventory readily available from multiple locations that they can get to us the next day. It is as if Progressive is operating out of our building. Progressive’s Customer Service team is very helpful and wonderful to work with
– and always offering viable solutions to our challenges. The inventory and the quality of the components that we get from Progressive – and the innovation – are advantages we’ve been able to incorporate into our projects and offer as solutions to our customers’ challenges.”

Tooling for Tomorrow Update

Progressive’s President, Glenn Starkey (left) and PR Coordinator Cyndi Kustush present Bill Vogel, Industrial Coordinator at Austin Polytechnical Academy, with a $5,000 scholarship check. The Academy was chosen to receive the award by the AMBA’s Chicago Chapter, which is the 2011 AMBA Chapter of the Year.
The Chicago Chapter of the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA), as Chapter of the Year, donated its $5,000 scholarship award to Austin Polytech in Chicago. The presentation was made at the
AMBA dinner meeting in September.
Each year Progressive sponsors this award, as well as the AMBA’s Mold Builder of the Year award, as part of its Tooling for Tomorrow program. It’s a meaningful way to foster the growth of the tooling industry because the funds are always donated to an industry-related educational program.
In addition to the scholarship award, Progressive also
provided four Chicago Bears tickets to raffle off as a door prize!
If you know of a school or program that is dedicated to mold making and could benefit by donations of product or scholarship funds, please contact Robert Federico at 800-269-6653, ext. 555. |
