New Compact Locking Series Date Stamps

This high performance date stamp offers all the advantages of the Locking Series while incorporating the design of the Compact Series.

Tis the season for thinking “date stamps
and plugs” and Progressive has added
yet one more unique style to its very wide array of dater products: the new Compact Locking Series Date Stamp.

This high performance date stamp offers
all the advantages of the Locking Series
that was introduced in 2010 while incorporating the design of the Compact Series to avoid interference with water
lines and other features.

The advanced locking feature prevents unintended rotation due to high molding pressure or injection speed, plus this date stamp performs better than others when molding materials with high glass or fiber content. In addition, the Compact Locking Locking Series offers the highest temperature allowance in the industry at 572°F/300°C and can withstand molding pressures to 20,000 psi [2,000 BAR].

Euromold Wrap-up

Progressive recently completed its participation at this year’s EuroMold exhibition where the team met with customers as well as channel partners from all over the world.

During the show, customers learned what’s new about the CVe Monitor and optimizing tooling production. DT Collapsible Cores, Lifters, Date Stamps including the new Compact Locking Series, and more were also highlighted.

Please take a few minutes to click on the following links and review information about the new products we featured at EuroMold:

It's Been Said

Progressive has the widest selection of date stamp styles and sizes available.

Ron Schmuhl, who is a mold designer
at A & O Mold, related to Progressive
his reasons for specifying our date
stamps and plugs:

“We order a lot from Progressive because of the fantastic service we
get. Our customers demand very specific date coding, so most often
we order the Multi-Dater because it
is a space saver and it’s more economical to use. I only have to
put one hole in to install it.

“We could buy our daters from anyone,” he adds, “but Progressive’s
pricing is competitive and the customer service department is the best.”

Conclusions

A year ago in this column I wrote of rising optimism in the mold industry and indications of an increase in tooling activity for the coming year. I suggested that if the optimism and activity continued it would be a good opportunity for companies, including Progressive, to advance their operations and prepare for any downturns in the future.

Today, as we look back over 2011 it seems that the optimism was not a false hope. It was a good year for many, and Progressive used the opportunity to work on some unique ways in which we could continue to be of value to our customers. When a CVe Monitor customer of ours in England received a Mold Performance Summary report from his molder in Thailand, it was a “Mr. Watson come here, I want to see you” moment for us. When another customer began converting “back halves” of his fleet of unscrewing tools with rebuilt halves using DoveTail Collapsible Cores, it was clear that we’ve begun to convert some major mindsets.

2012 is an NPE year, and while we will miss the industry coming to our
beautiful hometown of Chicago, we look forward to meeting new colleagues drawn to the Orlando location. We are enjoying preparing new products for
this, our ninth NPE.

As with last year’s Conclusions column, we’d like to share with you links to some articles that we hope can be of benefit in some way. We also welcome your feedback at any time about how we may better serve you and our industry
in the year to come.

From everyone at Progressive, we wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous year ahead!
