New Sizes of Needle Bearing Locks

Since their introduction in 2005, Progressive’s exclusive Needle Bearing Locks have proven to be a problem-solving solution that has earned a place in leading Mold Spec books.

To further ease integration into a variety of tools, three new sizes of this unique lock have been added in a Side Lock configuration, and two new sizes in a Top Lock orientation. This style features a patented ‘live cage’, which allows for proper bearing performance, versus pocket trapped rollers.

Needle Bearing Locks are just one of many alignment lock styles and configurations available, as no one offers more options than Progressive.

Bushings for Every Mold Application

Because Progressive understands the value of offering mold makers and molders an array of product options to choose from, our line of solid alloy bronze Bushings includes several styles to fit most any mold application.

  • Solid Bronze Bushings offers better performance over traditional bushings.  Constructed of solid bronze alloy, this bushing will not gall the mating leader pin.  While grease grooves and hole are standard, a Teflon® strip allows the bushing to run greaseless when contamination is a concern.

  • QC Bushings perform similarly to the Solid Bronze Bushing but the internal bushing liner can be removed from the parting line without disassembly of the mold.  Additionally, QC Bushings can be run with or without grease and replacement liners are readily available.

Progressive also has these styles available:

  • Graphite Plugged Bushings

  • Bronzed Plated Bushings

  • Steel Bushings

Progressive has the widest range of sizes and configurations, including Shoulder, Straight and Guided Bushings – all competitively priced and available off-the-shelf every day.

Distribution Expansion

The land to the east of the “land down under” has more going for it than sheep and tourism. Yes, New Zealand is home to a modest yet significant manufacturing base, and Progressive has recently initiated Industrial Tooling Limited as it's distributor in the region.

Located in Auckland, New Zealand, Industrial Tooling Limited brings such innovative Progressive standards as CounterViews, SRT Slide Retainers, Collapsible Cores and Date Stamps to the region’s mold manufacturing market.

Contact Progressive Components Asia for information on distribution coverage in the region by e-mailing sales.asia@procomps.com.

It's Been Said...

The more companies adopt a structured, comprehensive mold maintenance program utilizing MoldTrax, the more we are hearing from them about how the program has enhanced their manufacturing prowess and produced cost-saving results.

Following is a testimonial sent to MoldTrax Developer Steve Johnson from Ward Westbrook at Hollister, Inc.

“MoldTrax provides concise statistical mold repair and part defect tracking; it is a powerful tool for mold maintenance programs.  With features such as the Trouble Shooters Guide, with actual photos, mold component drawings, and detailed explanations of part and mold steel defects, we are able to provide Mold Service Technicians with solid historical information for use in Mold Maintenance.

“Using the MoldTrax 4 Software, we have determined PM schedules for molds that previously either ran until broken or were serviced at every mold pull,” he continued.  “As a result, we have seen repair and routine service cost reductions."

“Mold component replacement costs have gone down and our molds are making longer runs between scheduled service intervals."

“The various statistical reports that are available with MoldTrax are very helpful in demonstrating repair costs, manning requirements, and identifying problematic mold repair items for continuous improvement.  As an American medical device molding facility we must maintain the highest standards of quality molded components. The MoldTrax program provides a solid resource for a proactive and informed mold maintenance system."

“MT-4 is one more powerful tool used to provide the edge we need to successfully compete in our world economy.”

ProComper Profile

Sonya Redman
Customer Service Specialist

Many Progressive customers probably recognize the name of Sonya Redman because she has been a Customer Service team member since May 1997.  Sonya’s duties run the gamut of quoting and taking orders for both standard and custom products to providing additional information about them and seeing that customers receive the care they require.

Over the years Sonya has been the “go-to” person when customers required assistance with Progressive’s Mastip product line in the way of Hot Sprue Bushings.  In fact, fellow Procompers dubbed her the “Mastip Girl” because of her broad knowledge of the product line.

Asked how Sonya would describe her work, she responded, “By helping customers gain access to quality components with competitive pricing and delivery, I’m able to fulfill their needs from beginning to end, and I know I have provided the best possible service in the industry.”

Feel free to contact Sonya Redman by calling our Customer Service Department at 800-269-6653.
