Cy McGrath Joins Progressive Components Sales Team
Industry Veteran to Lead Canadian Initiative

Wauconda, IL (May 31, 2005) – Progressive Components, a leading supplier of tooling components for the injection mold, blow mold and die cast die industries worldwide, has welcomed industry veteran Cy McGrath as General Mgr, Canada.

McGrath joins Progressive after working for more than 39 years in sales at Madison Heights, MI-based DME, where he advanced from the position of field representative to managing all the company’s sales activities across Canada. Since 1994, he was appointed Director of North American Sales. In his new role as General Manager, Canada, McGrath
will focus on building Progressive’s client base within the Canadian tooling market through the development of sales strategies and increased industry participation in trade shows and Canadian tooling organizations’ activities.

“I’ve been asked why, after 39 years, I’m making such a major change in my career,” comments McGrath, “and the reason is because I’m at that age when I’m looking for a new challenge. I want to do something exciting and joining Progressive Components to help them gain exposure in a market that still holds so much potential is very exciting to me.”

McGrath’s responsibilities will be to increase Progressive’s sales presence in the Canadian market and assist in the development of the company’s distribution presence.

A resident of Windsor, Ontario Canada, McGrath began his notable career in the Canadian tooling industry in 1966 while attending night school. At the time, he had no intention of working in this industry but he soon found himself enthralled with it.

McGrath says, “There is still a lot of opportunity left in the Canadian tooling industry and Progressive has its eye on the ball. I look forward to being a part of their expansion in the market. This industry continues to excite me.”

“I had always been very involved in the Canadian industry and I’d like to do more,” adds McGrath. "Most of my involvement in recent years was on the U.S. side which didn’t allow me to spend as much time as I’d like being active with the Canadian organizations. But now I can get back in there and I’m looking forward to that.”

A founding member of the Windsor Association of Moldmakers (now called the Canadian Association of Moldmakers, or CAMM), McGrath is a former board member, serving now in an advisory capacity. He plans to become more active in that organization on behalf of Progressive. McGrath has also been active in the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) Moldmakers Division.
