Progressive Components Now Offering Die Casters
Economy Series Vent & Vacuum Blocks

Progressive Components, a leading supplier of tooling components for the

offering die casters an Economy Series for Vacuum and Vent Blocks.

Now, for those times when dies are ordered for
short runs or prototyping, Progressive Components
has a complete line of high quality yet economically
priced vent and vacuum blocks. Die casters
get the same high level of performance they
expect with these blocks as with the
standard blocks, and they are available in
five sizes plus custom sizes and shapes, too.

“These blocks are made of pre-hardened H-13
tool steel and salt bath nitrided (Melonite®),” says Todd Steinhoff, Die Casting Sales Manager at Progressive. “They are made of all the same quality materials as our regular line of blocks but are just not as hardened, so you get superior performance with short-run tooling at competitive prices that are 20% to 25% lower than our regular line.”

Progressive’s blocks, which are manufactured by Midland Technologies, work great for aluminum, magnesium and zinc projects and Vent Blocks are also available in beryllium-free copper.

The Valve-less Vacuum Blocks offer improved casting integrity, reduced porosity, reduced scrap and they improve surface finish. Complete vacuum systems are available.

Vent Blocks also aid in the reduction of porosity, plus they increase area and cross section to allow for natural venting. Like the valve-less vacuum blocks, Ultimate Vent Blocks will easily replace conventional venting; they’re water-cooled and they not only help improve the quality of products, but they help reduce costs, too.
