What's NewIndustry Veteran Wayne Hertlein Joins Progressive Components
Well-versed in practically all aspects of mold making and mold design, Hertlein comes to Progressive having served in several leadership roles at several notable Midwestern companies, including Complete Prototype Services and Collins & Aikman Global Tooling Company. As a youth, Wayne received the Apprentice of the Year award from the Chicago-based Tooling & Manufacturing Association (TMA). He was the 2004 recipient of the Mold Designer of the Year Award, an honor bestowed by the Society of Plastics Engineers’ Moldmaking & Mold Design Division and sponsored by Progressive Components. Where industry involvement and giving back to the trade are concerned, Hertlein is a Past Chairman of the SPE Moldmaking & Mold Design Division and he is currently serving as Chairman of the SPE’s I.T. Quarnstrom Foundation, an organization dedicated to the education and development of mold designers and mold makers through donations to noted institutions of higher learning that have programs for young people entering and working in the trade. Hertlein also serves on the Ferris State University Plastics Industrial Advisory Committee, helping to set the curriculum for the plastics program there.
