Progressive Components Welcomes Suttles as Southeast Sales Manager

Wauconda, Illinois – Progressive Components announced the addition of Leon Suttles to its North American sales team as Southeast Sales Manager. Suttles’ title will also include Die Cast Tooling Sales Manager, as he will head up North American Die Cast component sales for the company in addition to selling injection mold and blow mold components in the Southeastern U.S. (excluding Florida).

Suttles has worked in the tooling industry since 1969. He started out as tool designer with Alliance Carolina Tool & Mold in Arden, N.C. In 1971 he left to work at Square D Co. in Asheville, N.C., where he was a tooling engineer for 13 years. While there he helped launch their injection molding operation and also started up their die casting program. In 1984, Suttles left Square D to start up his own company, Leon Suttles & Associates, selling components to the molding and die casting industries.

“Leon is an excellent addition to our sales team, particularly in the area of die casting because of his extensive experience in that area,” said Glenn Starkey, president of Progressive Components. “He will help us further our initiatives by helping us expand our exclusive offerings for die casters and by increasing our reach within that industry.”

“I am looking forward to helping die casters standardize more of their tooling needs,” comments Suttles. “One of the things I’ve noticed in recent years is that die casters are accepting new technologies more easily. They’re starting to see the benefits of standardization and Progressive is particularly well equipped to bring cutting-edge products to the market.”

Suttles is a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and a charter member of the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA). He currently serves on the board of governors for NADCA.
