Progressive Components’ McGrath Appointed Chairman of Canadian Machine, Tool, Die & Mould Federation

Wauconda, IL, U.S.A. – Cy McGrath, general manager of Progressive Components Canada, a leading supplier of components for the injection mould, blow mould and die cast tooling industries worldwide, has begun a two-year term as Chairman of the Canadian Machine, Tool, Die & Mould Federation (CMTDMF). The federation represents the member companies of the Canadian Association of Mouldmakers (CAMM), the Canadian Tooling and Machining Association (CTMA), the Mould Makers Council of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), and the Canadian Pattern-Modelmakers Association (CPMA).

The purpose of the federation, and indeed its mission statement, is “advancing the awareness, prosperity, profile and competitiveness of the Canadian machine, tool, die and mould making sector.” In this capacity, representatives from each of the individual organizations come together under the umbrella of the CMTDMF to further these goals.

McGrath says that his plan as chairman is to work with his board to leverage the services of each organization within the federation and build on their individual strengths.

We’re looking to focus on immediate concerns and goals, both short and long-term, and use the talent we have in our directors to the benefit of the federation and its members,” explains McGrath. “The directors are already leaders in their own right of their respective associations. They are bringing their own ideas to the platform of the federation and we’ll use those to move forward and build our strength in the numbers of members we have among us.”
