Die Cast Tooling Additions From Midland Alliance

Progressive Components' exclusive Component Program for the die cast industry continues to grow with new and improved product offerings. Introduced in April 2002, the program consists of components including Ejector Pins, Hex Daters, large Leader Pins and Bushings, and Cooling products.

Alliance Announced
Now through a strategic alliance with Midland Technology in Rogers, MN, Progressive carries a comprehensive program of Vacuum Blocks and Vent Blocks. The line includes valve-less vacuum and venting technology, a specialty established by Midland.

Valve-less vacuum blocks are available in H-13 steel and easily replace valve style blocks. They provide significantly longer life than valve style blocks at more than 100,000 shots. Valve-less vent blocks, offered in H-13 steel or beryllium-free copper, allow for natural venting due to increased cross section area. Five sizes are available for both products. Valve-less vent blocks are water cooled and completely interchangeable. Also now offered is the "Mini" series of blocks, specially designed for smaller molds and unit dies where space is a concern. In addition, customers will find an "Economy" series of blocks that are manufactured from pre-hardened H-13 tool steel and retails for 25%-50% less than the standard series of blocks.

New CamAction
Progressive's Die Cast Tooling program now includes a line of large CamActions, developed by Midland, that covers travel from 1/2" to 4". Made from dissimilar steels for longer life and wear resistance, these CamActions offer another way to standardize side actions with a single system instead of spending valuable time designing new systems for every job.

"Progressive has worked with Midland on various projects in recent years, and it developed to where we could now formalize a strategic relationship," states Progressive's Craig Hasselberger, Business Development Manager. "We're combining our areas of expertise in order to speed standardization to what has been an underserved market."
