Progressive Components Introduces ProV-2
Mold Management Program

Web-based tool integrates with company’s exclusive CounterView®

Wauconda, IL (April 18, 2005) – Progressive Components, a leading supplier of tooling components for the injection mold, blow mold and die cast die industries worldwide, introduces its new ProV-2 Mold Management Program. The program will be on display at the Moldmaking Expo in Rosemont, IL, this week.

The ProV-2 Mold Management Program is a web-based database program that is integrated with a cycle counter’s serial number to further develop a standard for mold and tool management.

“Our exclusive CounterView® mold cycle counters have each been coded with a serial number that, when input into a dedicated website resource, ProFileCV.com, allows the user to add and retrieve important data for every tool they build and/or run,” explains Glenn Starkey, president of Progressive Components. “Based on pre-programmed access levels decided by the company’s administrator, this program can serve as a secure tracking mechanism for everyone from tool owners to designers to program engineers no matter where they are working, or where the mold is running, in the world.”

With ProV-2, documents are stored securely on the website, in one location, eliminating the need for transferring files via email or shipping them on CDs or as hard copies. Tool owners can configure the data and documents to suit their business needs and set up or remove administrators and other users while also providing guidelines to their subcontractors on how to use the system.

ProFile® Upgraded to ProV-2 Standard

When tool makers need to access tooling data or reporting functions, Progressive offers a mold maintenance product called ProFile®. ProFile is MS Windows-based software that can be installed on a network with shared database files or on a standalone machine. The latest edition, ProFile 5.5, has been upgraded to work with ProV-2 using the CounterView serial number and offers increased reporting and file uploading capabilities.
