Progressive Components’ Wayne Hertlein to Lead SME’s Plastic Tooling & Mold Design Tech Group

Wauconda, Illinois USA - Progressive Components, a leading supplier of components for production tooling, announced that Wayne Hertlein has accepted the chairmanship of the Plastic Tooling & Mold Design Tech Group. The group is one of several tech communities sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

Hertlein is well recognized by his peers as an avid industry advocate, helping to further develop education and training programs for those entering the trade, and raising significant funding to support these programs as well as scholarships.

“The main goal of the Plastics Tooling & Mold Design Tech Group is to support our SME parent community (Plastics, Composites & Coatings community) and the overall SME goals,” explains Hertlein. “This group provides plastics part designers, tool designers, moldmakers and molders with the knowledge, educational and technical resources required to work as a manufacturing team to successfully compete in the global economy.

“The community offers opportunities for SME members with similar interests to connect with each other, learn from one another and collaborate to further manufacturing knowledge and education,” he adds.

Hertlein recently joined Progressive Components’ Engineering team as Applications Engineer. As such he works on the design and development of new and innovative products for the tooling industry.
